Diagnostic Overview
CAT fault code 102-07 indicates the intake manifold pressure or boost system is not responding properly. The ECM may command or expect a boost change but does not see the correct response. This can be caused by mechanical turbo problems, boost leaks, exhaust leaks, or incorrect sensor feedback. Because FMI 7 is a response fault, live data under load is very important.
Likely Causes
Boost leak; charge-air cooler leak; sticking turbo actuator; exhaust leak; restricted air filter; faulty boost sensor; worn turbo; VGT or wastegate not responding.
What To Check First
Road-test or load-test while watching boost data, pressure-test the charge-air system, inspect exhaust leaks, and test turbo actuator or wastegate response.
