MaxxForce fault code SPN 1176 FMI 18 is generally an air-management or turbo-related performance code with a valid-but-low monitored value. Depending on application, it may relate to turbocharger control, boost performance, or intake/exhaust pressure behavior. The ECM may reduce power if the measured value is too low for the commanded engine load. This should be diagnosed with full live data because multiple systems can create the same symptom.
Likely Causes
Boost leak, exhaust leak, turbo actuator problem, sticking turbo vanes, intake restriction, faulty pressure sensor, EGR system issue, low fuel delivery, or wiring problem.
