SPN 3719

DPF, DEF, SCR, and NOx-reduction system faults.

System
MaxxForce Aftertreatment

Diagnostic Overview

MaxxForce fault code SPN 3719 is generally tied to DPF soot-load, regeneration, or aftertreatment restriction monitoring. It may appear when the ECM determines that the DPF requires regeneration, cannot complete regeneration, or is outside the expected operating range. This code can be a symptom of a DPF issue, but it can also be caused by sensor, EGR, turbo, injector, or air-handling problems that create excessive soot.

Likely Causes

Incomplete regens, excessive idle time, plugged DPF, ash accumulation, failed DPF differential pressure sensor, plugged sensor tubes, exhaust leaks, poor combustion, EGR faults, turbo faults, or fuel system issues creating excess soot.

What To Check First

Check active aftertreatment codes, inspect DPF pressure tubes, review regeneration history, compare DPF differential pressure, and determine whether a service regen, cleaning, or upstream engine repair is needed.
