Diagnostic Overview
Mack fault code P20D000 usually indicates a general aftertreatment fuel dosing control fault. The ECM may be unable to command or confirm proper operation of the fuel doser used during regeneration. This can prevent the DPF from reaching the temperature needed to burn soot and may eventually lead to a derate if the DPF becomes restricted.
Likely Causes
Aftertreatment fuel doser failure; plugged doser nozzle; low fuel supply to doser; open or shorted circuit; connector corrosion; control module fault.
What To Check First
Inspect the doser, wiring, fuel supply, and connector. Run the appropriate aftertreatment fuel dosing test and confirm exhaust temperature response.
