Diagnostic Overview
Cummins fault code 2448 is commonly associated with turbocharger speed, turbocharger control, or air-handling performance. The ECM may detect turbo operation outside the expected range for engine speed and load. Causes can include stuck VGT vanes, failed actuator, boost leak, exhaust leak, charge-air cooler leak, restriction in the intake or exhaust, or inaccurate pressure sensor data. Diagnosis should include checking actuator movement, boost readings, exhaust pressure, intake restriction, and the mechanical condition of the turbocharger.
