Cummins fault code 271 is commonly associated with an injector circuit or injector performance concern. The ECM may detect an abnormal electrical condition or cylinder fueling response. Causes include a failed injector, open or shorted injector harness, poor connector contact, damaged pass-through connector, ECM driver issue, or mechanical injector failure. Diagnosis should include inspecting injector wiring, checking connector pins, testing circuit resistance where applicable, and comparing cylinder contribution or cutout data.
